If you all remember I have published a post earlier [read it here] about how difficult getting your iPhone 5 broken glass being fixed here in Kuwait. And I have promised you all to continue the story and tell you my decision in Part 2, which is right here and right now :D
Of course after so many days of suffering with "stuffed to explode" iPhone 4, and looking at my iPhone 5 every now and then "waiting magically to being fixed by itself" I have decided to do something on my own :D I have been searching about LCD screens with digitizer on Amazon, but unfortunately, I couldn't find any! All I have found was iPhone 3, 4 and 4S LCD screens with digitizers. Until one day Yousef "aka Dude from 7ajidude Blog" posted a similar post about Samsung Galaxy S3 broken glass [read it here] and I have decided to ask him about iPhone 5. He was kind enough to give me some links on eBay for iPhone 5 screens and recommended looking up for videos on Youtube on how to fix your broken screen at home.
After checking all the available options, I have realized that they were all almost the same price as Kuwait (I am counting the customs price and Aramex taxes) so what is the point of getting a screen from outside, and take a risk fixing it yourself. Plus I was reading the reviews before I read the item description and they were all discouraging enough to buy any! Like for example some of the sellers were saying we are not responsible if it didn't fit your phone, we design those screens based on the description we have and that their items are not authorized by Apple or any other company "this is depression itself"
Apparently if you were able to find that screen, get it, and fix it, and if it eventually didn't fit your phone or was not functioning properly, then you and your plan is doomed to failure !
So, my final decision was to just fix my iPhone 5 and start using it again. I seriously couldn't just keep it aside and not use it. It would've been a crime for god sake !
Here is my phone after being fixed
Looking awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeee, isn't!
The place where I have fixed my iPhone 5 is called warsha.com located in Shuwaikh next to iCity [check google maps here] First they will give you a print out "Job Card" with all your details and the total price which is KD 95/-, and then will ask you to wait or come back after an hour. After its all done, they will give you an invoice with the total price and a one month warranty for the LCD screen "I guess my name has been changed into cash while I was sleep or something"
