It's official: Goodbye Hotmail, Welcome Outlook !

Hotmail was launched first in 1996 and gone through so many changes over the years. Today, Microsoft is making its most radical change yet to the 16 year old email service.

Hotmail service will still be there, the users will not be forced to upgrade to Outlook yet. Your email address will still be the same as before, only that your account will be an Outlook.com account.

If you log in to your Hotmail account, you will find few new emails from Outlook.com Team featuring their "New Mail" look by providing a link to upgrade from Hotmail to Outlook.com and to upgrade from Messenger to Skype.

After you upgrade your Hotmail to Outlook.com, you will be transferred to the new design and layout which is somehow looking similar to Windows 8 design.

And here you can get an online chatting with your friends by linking your Facebook account to your Outlook.com

And these are the available online services that Outlook.com provide to its users.

I still didn't try it to see what's new and what other features Outlook.com is providing. Let's hope that this change is for the best for both Microsoft and Hotmail users.
