Microsoft SkyDrive started its own battle !

Going back to my previous post, I was talking about Google Drive and the day it would be officially lunched. Well, no need to wait for more. Today Google Drive was officially lunched for all Gmail users. You can check their official website here. But the thing is that google drive is not yet enabled for users. Which means you already have your free 5 GB, but you still can't use it.

Lunching this service is definitely going to cause a war between all of the "Cloud" storage service providers, such as Microsoft SkyDrive, Apple iCloud, Dropbox and many others. And indeed, Microsoft already started its own battle by creating its own dedicated apps for Windows and OS, which integrate right into the OS by creating a folder where users can drag and drop their files easily and have them automatically synced across all of their devices.

Microsoft has combined with this new step two major things, one is the cloud strategy "Live Mesh" and the cloud service "SkyDrive", in order to offer a more simplified cloud storage service to all users. However, the storage space giving to all "SkyDrive" new users is 7GB for free, though it was 25GB free before. With different paid options at the rates of $10, $25 and $50 per year for 20GB, 50GB or 100GB.
Any existing user of SkyDrive can sign up today and upgrade from 7GB to 25GB for free. This offer is limited and I don't know for how long its going to be valid, so you better hurry up !

Another essential feature is the ability to remotely "Fetch" files stored on your PC running Windows from any browser using (so you never have to worry about forgetting to send or post a file). This means, it will allow you to have access to files that are outside of your SkyDrive folder on any Windows PC. As long as the computer is on and running SkyDrive application, you can browse and access any file on your disk from anywhere after doing a two-step authentication process, so your files will be safe. For more information about SkyDrive features, please visit this website.
Its still uncertain if Microsoft "Live Mesh" service will be shut down in favor of SkyDrive or not. But I believe it would, because SkyDrive is combining almost all the features any user is wishing for !

Moreover, Microsoft has updated its SkyDrive apps for Windows and iOS phones, with the ability, of course, to access your files anytime from any computer by signing to SkyDrive website using any browser. They also revealed that the SkyDrive iOS app now has iPad support, alongside sharing via web links and the ability to upload multiple videos and photos.
You may download SkyDrive app for your Windows and OS X here.

Google Drive VS. Dropbox Vs. iCloud

Google the new competitor of Dropbox and iCloud services is lunching the new "GDrive", an online service that will store large files online instead of in PC hard drives by "mid of this week", probably this Tuesday.

Google Drive is a free online service with 5 GB storage for each user, with the option to purchase more storage and changes made to files synced across all your devices. This service will allow users to save files, media, photos, documents, etc. It will be available for Mac users, Microsoft, Android and iOS users.

Still unclear is exactly what sort of features Google Drive will have. What we really hope is a better service from google, which I believe they will offer. This is a big step for the big organization "Google".
I really can't wait to get this service lunched, because I will definitely try it and love it :-D

The most annoying alarm ever !

I guess I really need to gift this alarm to couple of my friends, since it takes a very long time for them to wake up in the early morning :-p

We all know how hard it is sometimes to wake up at the early morning, specially when you hit that snooze button to enjoy another 5 minutes of laziness laying on your bed :-D
Well not any more, rise and shine sweet pie :-P. Today I am introducing the Ramos Alarm Clock. This alarm is very unique in design and function. It will force you to get out from your bed no matter what you try to do. HOW? let's watch this video.

The 24 year old Paul Sammut invented this alarm after facing so many problems with his alarms in the early morning. This alarm comes with a Defuse Panel; where you can keep wherever you want  (kitchen, bathroom, or anywhere). When the alarm goes on, I know you would love to snooze it or shut it down ! But you can't. This alarm will force you to get out from your bed, head to the defuse panel, where you'll have to enter a code to turn it off. The funny thing in all this, is that you will eventually find yourself somewhere else but not your bed X-D.

The way this clock is functioning is pretty much clever, yet annoying. The clock sits on a nightstand and it only stops ringing after receiving a wireless signal from the punch pad (defuse panel) placed in another room. The reason why I said it is annoying; is that an hour before going off, it can be set to go into lock-down mode, preventing any last-minute changes to the wake up time.

This young inventor raised $75,000 in six days after inventing this amazing product. It's sadly still a kick starter project with a dream of becoming a real one someday. But the current version has a unique look including the hand-built nixie tube teak version which can be yours with a pledge of $350. Here's a list of some of the hard-woods that they'll have available.

If you wish to have this incredibly ammazing yet annoying alarm, visit this website and pre-order your own cute lil devilish Ramos right now :-p

Wish you all happy annoying morning away from your bed :-p

Facebook Buying Instagram ! Is this a good thing or a bad thing ?

You all know the very famous app "Instagram" and how successful it is, since the day it was published.
Instagram and for more than 18 months was only for iOS users "iPhone", with more than 27 million users. But now after the Android's version, released last week, Facebook was amazed by the number of Android users who have signed up with this app. 1 Million new members signed up through Instagram for Android for the first 24 hours alone. Just recently it was reported that Instagram had raised $50 million based on a $500 million valuation. No wonder Facebook wants to buy this application !

For all of you who don't know Instagram yet, allow me to introduce it to you. Instagram is a fun & quick way to share your life with friends through a series of pictures. Snap a photo with your iPhone or your Android device, then choose a filter to transfer the look and feel of the shot into a beautiful memory to keep forever. So briefly, it's really such an amazing application allowing you to experience moments in your friend's lives through pictures as they happen. As for the app features, well they are so many and amazing features. I highly recommend you try this application asap, and a BIG LIKE is guaranteed.

Wait until you hear the great news ! For all of those who are not able to access this app through their mobile devices, or want to check out their photos and their friends' photos through the website. You may simply visit this website, sign in with your Instagram username & password, and enjoy checking your timeline and your friend's timeline. But the thing is that this website will allow you only to like, comment and view your pictures and your friends', and not posting new pictures with new filters.

Now, however, let's talk business; 14 hours ago near Palo Alto, CA, Mark Zuckerberg "Facebook Cheif" announced "Facebook" big interest in buying the very famous application "Instagram", and that "They are looking forward to working with Instagram team and to all of the great new experiences they are going to be able to build together."

Facebook couldn't wait anymore, and have decided to buy Instagram application "the most popular photo-sharing application", for about $1 billion in cash and stock.

Well, my biggest concern is, till when this success will be hitting ? or is it gonna be Instagrams' last days of glory ? A lot of questions are being asked after this announcement being published. People "Instagram users" are so scared of "Facebook users". They are all concerned about the peace of mind they were living through this application away from other social networks. Of course you have that option where you can share your photos through other social networks, but at least it was giving you your own timeline, your own friends and your own rules. In a response to these fears, Kevin Systrom Instagram CEO's said:

"It's important to be clear that Instagram is not going away. We'll be working with Facebook to evolve Instagram and build the network. We'll continue to add new features to the product and find new ways to create a better mobile photos experience.

The Instagram app will still be the same one you know and love. You'll still have all the same people you follow and that follow you. You'll still be able to share to other social networks. And you'll still have all the other features that make the app so fun and unique"

Also, Mark Zuckerbery explained to Instagram users that their privacy is not a concern, and that they will still enjoy the application exactly how they used to, by saying:

"We think the fact the Instagram is connected to other services beyond Facebook is an impotrant part of the experience. We plan on keeping features like the ability to post to other social networks, the ability to not share your Instagram on Facebook if you want, and the ability to have followers and follow people separately from your friends on Facebook.

These and many other features are important parts of the Instagram experience and we understand that. We will try to learn from Instagram's experience to build similar features into our other products. At the same time, we will try to help Instagram continue to grow by using Facebook's strong engineering team and infrastructure.

This is an important milestone for Facebook because it's the first time we've ever acquired a product and company with so many users. We don't plan on doing many more of these, if any at all. But providing the best photo sharing experience is one reason why so many people love Facebook and we knew it would be worth bringing these two companies together."

But it could also be the beginning of the end, if social networking heads was thinking of Instagram as a threat more than an opportunity ! So the future of Instagram is still a question with no answer !

By the end of this article, all I can say is good luck for both Facebook and Instagram. And hope that the peaceful world we were living through this application is not gonna be affected in a bad way.

Best Regards,

The Story behind the success of Draw Something Application

Hello again :-)

Today's post is about a very popular post, where I can say that almost everybody is using.
This application became very popular in a very short time. It has been downloaded more than 50 million times in just 50 days, making it the fastest-growing mobile game ever ! Of course you all know I am talking about "Draw Something" App.

Draw Something application was created by Dan Porter, and is his very first game that he has ever designed. Porter says that this game was never inspired by Pictionary and he's never played the game. The main goal behind designing this game was to create cooperative activities that don't declare a winner. Which in my opinion is an essential part behind the success story of Draw Something app. In fact the game was originally titled Streaks when it was being designed.

This app invites users to draw a picture and then your friend has to guess what it is. The game invites users to be cooperative, it invites them to chose one of three words to draw which their friend can guess. If the friend guesses right, then both parties will earn gold coins.

You may create your username by registering your email address, or by linking your facebook profile to this app; so you can find friends who play this game easily :)

Also, you can invite your friends to play with you either by entering their name after you "create a game". Or you can just create a game with a random player as shown below.

This game is available for free download for iOS devices via iTunes, and for Android devices via this link
Of course Blackberry and Nokia users are wishing to have this game on their devices. They hope that the developers at OMGPOP are looking for some additional interest from Blackberry and Nokia users in order to think about developing the game for their devices. And who knows, maybe they might consider developing this application for Blackberry & Nokia users.

Enough talking, let's go through some of the drawings I've made using this application "now don't judge me roughly I know I am just a beginner in this game, and I need to practice more :-D"

This was supposed to be graduation :-p

And this is obviously a knife

Here is my funny magician, I dunno why but I feel there is something weird in his shoulders. Maybe he has shoulder pain or something :-p.

This is the sunset.

A Birthday cake :-D

Hey Arnold ! It's obvious isn't :-p

A ladybug, which I hate to see around :-/

A cake
 And a wheat

As for the below drawings, I've found them on instagram under the #drawsomething hashtag. Honestly, I couldn't help not publishing those drawings, they are insanely awesome and creative.

For more fascinating drawings you can follow the update through the app official facebook page. All you have to do is hit the "Like" and enjoy watching the sweet updates :-)

Hope you enjoyed reading this post.
